WE ARE NOT ANOTHER MEDIA COMPANY
Speak for Assam is a platform where people tell their own stories — the accounts, the struggles, the truths — without gatekeepers, without red tape, without a corporate filter. We publish the voices that mainstream media leaves out. If you have something to say, this is the place to say it.
HOW IT WORKS

Your account of an event, an issue, a struggle, or a point of view. Your words — no one rewrites you.
02
SEND
Email it to us with your name and a private contact, so we can reach you.
03
WE PUBLISH
We review every submission and publish it under your name.
CONTRIBUTOR RULES
Original work only
Submit writing you created yourself. Do not copy articles, captions, scripts, photographs, videos, or graphics from other websites or social-media accounts.
Accurate information
Check every factual claim before submitting. Include links to reliable sources, official records, original posts, or firsthand evidence where available. Do not submit rumours merely because they are trending.
No AI-only submissions
AI tools may assist with drafting or research, but contributors remain responsible for accuracy. Disclose when AI has materially assisted the article. Never submit unverified AI-generated claims, quotations, statistics, or citations.
Separate fact from opinion
Clearly identify whether the piece is news, analysis, opinion, satire, personal experience, or commentary. Do not present personal beliefs or speculation as established fact.
No fabricated material
Do not invent quotes, sources, witnesses, events, documents, images, statistics, or screenshots. Do not alter material in a way that creates a false impression.
Fair opportunity to respond
If an article contains a serious criticism or allegation concerning an identifiable person, business, institution, or organization, contact the subject for a response before submission where reasonably possible. Include the response, or state that no response was received by the publication deadline.
No unsupported accusations
Do not call someone a criminal, fraudster, corrupt person, or similar term unless the wording is legally and factually supported. Report what has been officially alleged or established instead of stating unproven accusations as fact.
Respect privacy
Do not publish private phone numbers, home addresses, personal email addresses, medical information, identity documents, intimate material, or information identifying a vulnerable person without a strong public-interest reason and editorial approval.
No hate, threats, or harassment
Submissions must not encourage violence, target people because of religion, caste, ethnicity, gender, disability, nationality, or other protected characteristics, or encourage harassment or doxxing.
Children and vulnerable people
Do not identify children involved in sensitive matters, victims of sexual offences, or vulnerable individuals without appropriate legal and ethical justification.
Copyright responsibility
Use your own images and media, properly licensed material, public-domain material, or official social-media embeds. Credit is not a substitute for permission. Tell Speak for Assam if any material requires a licence.
Conflicts of interest
Disclose personal, family, employment, political, financial, or business relationships with anyone or any organization discussed in the article.
Advertising and promotional content
Do not accept payment, gifts, or benefits for coverage without disclosing it. Paid or sponsored content must be clearly labelled and kept separate from independent editorial coverage.
No impersonation or deceptive submissions
Do not submit under another person's name or use a false identity to create a misleading impression. A pseudonym may be permitted, but Speak for Assam should privately know the contributor's real identity where appropriate.
Corrections and complaints
Contributors must cooperate with fact-checking, requests for clarification, corrections, right-of-reply requests, and legitimate copyright complaints. Do not delete evidence or obstruct a review.
Editorial control
Speak for Assam may edit, delay, reject, label, correct, or remove any submission. Publication is not guaranteed, and acceptance does not mean every statement has been independently verified.
Contributor responsibility
By submitting, the contributor confirms that the work is original, accurate to the best of their knowledge, and not unlawful. The contributor must identify the sources and evidence used.
No automatic publication
Sending an article does not mean it has been published. Only an authorised Speak for Assam editor may approve publication.
